Built by locals, for locals. We are on a mission to redefine grassroots sports education in Western Sydney.
We are two close friends and lifelong sports enthusiasts deeply rooted in the Western Sydney community. Growing up playing local division sports, we experienced firsthand the profound impact that dedicated coaching and team environments have on a young person's confidence and character.
We started Ground Up Sports because we noticed a critical gap in how grassroots sports were being taught to primary school students. Too often, sessions were either overly competitive and exclusionary, or lacked the structured technical focus needed to actually improve.
To build resilient, capable, and confident young athletes from the ground up, ensuring every child leaves our sessions with a newfound passion for movement, a sharper understanding of technique, and a lifelong appreciation for teamwork.
Safe, structured, and highly engaging outdoor sessions.
Professional, qualified, and dedicated to your child's athletic development.

Commerce & Law @ MQMy sporting journey started right here in the local community. From Year 4 all the way through to Year 11, I played Division 1 and 2 sport, proud to lace up my boots for local clubs like the Pendle Hill Tigers and Toongabbie Demons even bringing home two Grand Final victories along the way. I know firsthand the dedication it takes to compete at a high level, but more importantly, I know how much joy, confidence, and lifelong friendships local sport brings to a kid's life.
Currently in my first year studying a double degree in Commerce and Law, I wanted to channel that same passion and discipline into helping the next generation. I founded this business to give primary school students a supportive environment where they can learn fundamental skills, active habits, and teamwork from the ground up. Whether your child is picking up a ball for the first time or aiming for their own Grand Final, my goal is to guide them with the same energetic, community-first coaching that shaped me.

Commerce & Psychology @ MQSport, physical fitness, and mindset have been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember. For over a decade between the ages of 7 and 17 I competed in Division 1 soccer, developing an elite understanding of teamwork, high-level strategy, and technical footwork. My passion for pure speed and movement also led me to athletics, where I competed at the district level in the 100m sprint at age 16.
Currently in his second year studying a double degree in Commerce and Psychology, Alex brings a unique perspective to youth sports coaching. Combining his academic insight into human behaviour and motivation with a personal background as an all-round basketball, gym, and fitness enthusiast, his coaching philosophy is about more than just physical drills. Alex focuses on building athletic versatility, unlocking explosive speed, and creating a positive mental environment where kids feel confident to challenge themselves, build resilience, and develop a lifelong love for staying active.
